I just hope I can get back into the right head space before I undo to much of the good work I have put into this diet over the last four months.

Holidays, sheesh.
As I suspected the family holiday has put paid to the diet for the time being. I got used to eating and drinking again and I am now finding it hard to get back into diet mode. I guess it is like stopping running 18 miles into a marathon the body seizes up and won't let you carry on even though most of the hard work is done. I have not weighed myself since coming back home but would guess that I have put on around 5lb or so.

The slippery slope
The holiday period is taking its toll like I suspected. I put on three pound after my last break lost one pound of it and now I am stuck just in time to go away again on Friday.

Dropped a pound at last!
Well I have dropped a pound in weight just in time for my three day holiday in Torquay. I guess that means all the weight lost over the last three weeks will be back on board by Tuesday. Ho hum.

17st 8lb - 246lb
I seem to be stuck at the moment and it is just at the wrong time motivation wise what with two weekends away coming up very shortly etc.. I am also letting calories slip in every now and again that I did not before ie eating a mouthful of left over food from the Mrs or Kids dinners etc. and accepting the odd offered drink when I would have refused before. Even so I am eating at a level that the weight should still be dropping even if it is only a pound or so a week and yet it still is not happening.

Still slogging on with a further pound lost this week.
Well the holiday season (for me) takes its toll on my diet some what. Although I am a pound lighter than my last post the reality is I put on several pounds during our two days to the seaside this was then compounded by my night shifts. I have struggled manfully on though and the weight is still going overall in the right direction. If I can continue to lose around half a stone per month at this stage I guess this diet is still a success story isn't it? One good thing though is that posting my holiday snaps on facebook brought on a few "gosh you have lost weight" type comments which is gratifying to say the least.

Hitting my target.
I hate to admit it but I just cant see myself reaching my target weight by Christmas now. I am still going to aim for it but I would be a liar if I said I had quite the passion for dieting that I had in the first two months of it. Back then if anyone offered my a drink of booze or something fattening I would have said just said no, now I mostly say no. By Christmas I will often be saying yes I would imagine.
I am also now running into the season of feasting and merriment that includes by chance sadly a load of birthdays in my family that will no doubt have food and drink attached to them. I know I have done well to lose over three stone in weight but I also know that truthfully I should be at the very least another two stone lighter just for health reasons. Technically It should actually be three stone lighter.
I also know that I look pretty good for me now as it is having dropped two sizes in shirts and trousers. One more drop in clothes sizes will open up a huge range of clothing that has not been available to me for years and that is probably only 10 or 15 pounds away. Keeping at the diet will be even harder then. I need to give myself a pep talk me thinks.
17st 9lb - 247lb

I have come to the conclusion that working shifts really does muck your system up. I finished a run of nights yesterday slept until noon then seemed to spend the rest of the day peeing. I am not joking when I say that at one point I was going every 20 minutes for about 3 hours. I rekon I retain liquid on nights and then offload the all the excess when I have my first day or two off. The upshot of all this is that my weight often goes up by my last shift (note all the weird spiking on my chart over the last four months) and then drops sometimes dramatically after a day or two off work, hence the two pound drop in weight over night. It was sadly I think mostly urine.

17st 11lb - 249lb
A bit of a mad week and what I hope is not the start of the slippery slope back into eating to much. I have only lost a pound for the whole week and it is quite obviouse why. The exercise has plummeted to nothing ( I have not been on the rowing machine all week) and the eating has gone up. I had a bottle of wine as a gift on Thursday and instead of storing it until I hit a target weight I drank the lot. On Friday we went out to a country pub as a treat for the boys as it was a nice day and my last day off work and I had two pints of cider with chips and a roll. I hope now that I am back at work some order can be brought back to my life and things will get back on track.

17st 12lb - 250lb About time too!
Well that was one heck of a long plateau period. It has been a bit of a misery to be honest. I don't think it is all my fault though even though a tiny bit of diet dodging was going on I.e my moms birthday and a day trip out with the family that ended up with a bottle of wine being drunk. I was still even with all that averaging around 1700 calories per day. Hopefully this is the start of another period of weight loss.
